Mountpark Southampton

The requirements for this PV System were to provide 100% of the calculated energy usage for the warehouse lighting within each of the 3No industrial units within this industrial development, in close proximity to Southampton Airport. 

Part of our work was initially to undertake the system layouts and provide a glint and glare study to supplement the planning approval process to allow the local authority to approve the installation with its close proximity to the adjacent airport. 

The solar panels save 139,958kWh of energy per year – enough electricity to meet 100% of the developments warehouse lighting costs. In addition to this, a total of 60kW of battery storage was installed to provide a 24/7 renewable power supply to the site. 

This system was a first in the UK for the battery and charging components manufacturers’ for a zero export facility on this scale.
