How we did it

We were appointed by Imtech Engineering Services, which were working for BAM Construction on two construction lots of a total of eight in the first phase of the North West Cambridge Development which is a new, 150 – Hectare district and one of the largest capital projects in the University of Cambridge’s History.

The University took the opportunity to affect the built environment for its new 150-Hectare district and encourage sustainability throughout as it seeks a BREEAM Excellent and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5.

To give context to the scale of the development there will also be a primary school, health care centre, hotel, care home, sports centre, supermarket, local shops and public open spaces.

The installation was in a challenging environment with such a large scale site with challenges such as timed deliveries, access restrictions and working within tight timescales but we delivered the scheme to deliver the 373kW array.
